The Nominating Committee for the Wake County Bar Association and Tenth Judicial District Bar will meet this summer to identify candidates for positions on the Board of Directors, Bar Councilor, President-elect, Treasurer and Secretary. The Nominating Committee invites you to nominate yourself or other members who have a passion for leadership, their bars and service to their profession and the community.
Do not assume that the Nominating Committee knows that you or others are interested in leadership roles. Self-nominations are welcome and encouraged. Being a member of the Wake County Bar Association is not required to seek a position, but if your name is put forward by the Nominating Committee you will need to join the WCBA and maintain your membership.
Serving on the Board of Directors requires attendance at six meetings per year, in addition to other responsibilities such as serving as a committee’s liaison to the Board. Board meetings are typically held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Current Board information can be found here.
If chosen to run for President-elect, please keep in mind that it is a three-year time commitment. A detailed job description for President-elect and President can be found here.
