To Members of the Tenth Judicial District Bar:

In 2005, G. Bryan Collins was appointed to the position of Tenth Judicial District Public Defender. He was reappointed to that office in 2009. Due to his recent election to the Superior Court, Bryan Collins is no longer eligible for re-appointment, and therefore, depending on the number of eligible persons submitting their names for this position, pursuant to the rules of the Commission on Indigent Defense Services (Click here to see the Regulations), we may be required to hold an election of the Tenth Judicial District Bar, to provide the names of up to three nominees for consideration for this position.

Any attorney licensed to practice law in North Carolina, who is interested in applying for this position may submit in writing his or her name along with biographical information, pursuant to the Regulations. We would also respectfully request that you provide a photo in a jpg or tif format to facilitate the presentation of your candidacy to our Bar in the event of the need for an election, but this photo is not required to be provided by the Rules, and is requested only for informational purposes to assist in presenting to the Bar those persons seeking the position, as is our custom prior to local Bar elections. Please send the required items and the optional photo, if any, to the following address:
