Join us for our final CLE opportunity of the year, immediately following our December 5 luncheon. This program, titled, “The Origins, Development, and Role of the Supreme Court of North Carolina,” will be presented by Justice Sam Ervin.  The Supreme Court of North Carolina is about to turn 200, having been authorized by the General Assembly in 1818 and having begun to hear cases in 1819.  In spite of its age, many members of the Bar know little about the reasons that led to the Court's establishment, the ways in which the Court has changed over the years, and the role that the Court is supposed to play in our current judicial system.  This session will explore these topics in the hope of making members of the Wake County Bar better informed about the Court's origins, development, and current functions. This program will begin at 1:45 p.m. and is pending 1.0 hours of general CLE credit. It will be free for WCBA members and $30 for non-members.
