Capital Area Teen Court - This is an alternative sentencing program for young people who have committed non-violent crimes for the first time. The Court convenes on Tuesday evenings at the Courthouse and needs attorneys to serve as either the judge or as advisors to the youth advocates. You do not need to be a criminal lawyer to participate in this project.

Hispanic Workshop - The Hispanic Workshop develops programs to provide education and legal resources for the Hispanic community in partnership with other organizations involved with the Hispanic community. If interested in this program, please contact Julia Young.
Komen Race - The Public Service Committee coordinates participation by Wake County Bar Members in the Komen Race for the Cure fundraiser that takes place every summer to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research, education, and health services. Lunch With A Lawyer – The Lunch With A Lawyer program pairs volunteer attorneys with school students employed by the City of Raleigh summer youth employment program. The program needs attorneys willing to share at least two lunches during the months of June and July. If you have questions please contact coordinator Paul A. Suhr.
Wake County Public School Tutoring Program - The Wake County Public Schools and the Communities in Schools organization are offering members of the Bar an opportunity to serve as tutors. Those who are able will be asked to meet with their student for one hour per week throughout the school year. Wheelchair Ramps - This program assists senior citizens who cannot afford a ramp in becoming more independent. Construction of a wheelchair ramp takes about 3 hours on a Saturday morning. All supplies and knowledge to build a ramp are provided. If you are interested in this program please contact Tom Worth or Colleen Kochanek.
Other projects have included big brother/big sister partnerships, food drives, fundraisers for schools, Habitat for Humanity, literacy programs, nonprofits wish list program, playground construction and a Wake County Courthouse Kids' Center.
