Membership in the voluntary Wake County Bar Association offers many benefits. Perhaps the most significant benefit of membership is the opportunity to develop and cultivate personal relationships with members of our growing and diverse Bar and judiciary, not only the context of social and recreational activies, but also while working toward the commond goals of improving the adminstiration of justice, professionalism, access to justice and public understandin of the legal profession and our system of justice.
We offer monthly luncheons featuring well-known guest speakers on current signficant issues, regular social functions designed to attract all members of the Bar and their families, BarCARES (our 24-hour free professional counseling services open to members and their families), a monthly electronic newsletter which features current information essential to local attorneys, free continuing legal education programs, a membership pictorial directory, and athletic events that include outings, tournaments and leagues.
The WCBA has numerous committees on which members can service to advance the goals depending upon their own particular talents and interests.
In addition to the networking opportunities, committees provide members with opportunities to volunteer for important and worthwhile programs that serve the public and the profession.
