Please register for this luncheon
in order to help us provide an accurate count to the caterers.Justice Willis Whichard will be our speaker. He will give a talk on the life of Governor David Swain who was an attorney and judge as well as North Carolina’s youngest governor and the youngest president of UNC. Born in western NC, he lived in Raleigh much of his life. A supporter of the Confederacy, he surrendered Raleigh to General Sherman. Governor Swain is buried in Raleigh’s Oakwood Cemetery.
Buffet will open at 12:15 p.m. with the meeting starting at 12:45 p.m.
