Membership in the Tenth Judicial District Bar is mandatory for attorneys who are active and live or practice in Wake County, North Carolina. The Tenth Judicial District Bar investigates grievances of the public toward attorneys, handles fee disputes with attorneys and conducts judicial elections.
FEE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
This committee works to resolve disputes over legal fees between clients and attorneys without going to court. The Fee Dispute Resolution process is free to the parties involved. For more information on the Fee Dispute Resolution program and a petition form, please click here.
A grievance may be filed if a person feels that the conduct of a lawyer licensed to practice law in North Carolina has violated one or more of the formal rules governing lawyer conduct. These rules are defined in the Rules of Professional Conduct. The Rules of Professional Conduct can be found at the North Carolina State Bar's website, www.ncbar.gov.
